Hi Jasmine. A funeral director is a very interesting role. Funeral Directors are involved in the details that go into planning the ideal funerals for remaining loved ones. Have you considered shadowing a director in your local community? That may be a good way to learn more about the role, and maybe even do some volunteer work to learn finer details about the role.
Please do reach back out if there are any specific questions you may have about some next steps for starting your journey into the role. Good Luck to you.

Thanks for this question.
Being a Funeral Director is a rewarding role that offers comfort to those who are hurting at a pivotal point in their lives. A funeral director should have the gift of compassion. Death is a part of life that we want to avoid, but it is necessary for all of mankind born into this world. I have several friends that are Funeral Directors and most are also ministers. Willie Watkins is a well known funeral director in the Atlanta area. He operates a family owned business and has been servicing his community for many many years.
Being a funeral directory requires you to be educated in all aspects of the business. There are several mortician schools that specialized for this business. You have to be willing to be flexible and adaptable to service your customers. You need to understand finances to grow your business, willing to adapt to technology to provide broadcasting services, etc.
I would suggest volunteering at a funeral home to gain exposure.
Thanks
