Hi Tommie!
Research and NETWORKING have always worked for me. If you are a little short on experience, look for volunteer and internship opportunities to gain experience and build professional relationships in your desired field. Join any professional associations you can find - they're a great way to meet others in your field and learn of new career opportunities.

I think you need to identify some things that you are really good at or that you find fascinating. Do some research and perhaps find local places where you can intern in those specific areas of interest. An internship is a great way to get experience and also determine if you really enjoy it.

Do you have any subjects that you are passionate about? Interests or hobbies? If so you can then formulate options based on those interests. For example, if you love sports perhaps a career might be in sports medicine or physical therapy. If you happen to love YouTube, maybe a career in media and broadcasting might interest you.
I would suggest getting a blank sheet of paper and write down all those things you enjoy. Then reach what careers are possible in each of those areas. Perhaps you revisit it regularly because you may change interests over time.
Be creative, visualize your dream job and reach for the stars!

Hello Tommie,
I know it may sounds common, but turn your hobby/passion into a career. Yes you should do research and make connections with others in the field, but you should also consider what makes you the happiest. A person once told me, "If you are passionate about what you do, success will come naturally." This is important to note because it is noted that you perform better in a career when you care more about the job you are doing. Once you find your passion, then you should do some research in how you want to achieve that career.

Hi Tommie!
I think a great way to start to find a career that you enjoy is to research! Start by looking into areas that interest you and make you excited to do, long term. I would also then look into volunteer opportunities, doing interviews with people working in those fields, internships, and learning all that you can about that area before you jump in. Get first hand knowledge and experience in that area. That helped me out a lot in deciding where I want to go in my career. Then you can also use these volunteer hours and add them to your resume.

Hi Tommie!
The key to career happiness is to find a job that allows you to do things that you love doing every.single.day.
The best way to find out if a particular job is the right one for you is to talk to several people doing that job and ask them what they most often find themselves doing in their work week - What specific activities take up the majority of their time?
Take that list of activities and ask yourself - which of these do I love doing? Which of these do I hate? Which would I tolerate?
I'd recommend that you evaluate a few different jobs at the same time using this method. The "winner" is the one where you will do the most things you love each day.
Best of luck to you!

Hi Tommie,
You are actually starting out in a great spot. You should explore what you would do, even if you didn't get paid for it. Take a look at your hobbies as well as things that you are good at. You should investigate jobs that use those skills. You should consider areas where you are creative. Creativity is something that turn a job from work to a passion. Remember artists are not just people who draw or write, but cooks are artists, architects are artists.
Volunteering is a great way to learn about what skills you have and put them to good use. Volunteering also allows you to meet people that you normally don't meet.
Good luck with finding your passion.
