You have to go to medical school. So after undergrad you would apply to medical school and in medical school is when you specialize in anesthesiology. Then you have residency. So after undergrad it takes an additional 8 years before your'e on your own.

Medical school and nursing school are two different processes. You stated that you want to become a nurse anesthetist (CRNA). If that is the case, first of all you have to become a RN with a Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
A CRNA has a Master's degree minimum and the program usually takes from 2 to 2.5 years to complete, including sitting for the certification.
Because it is very competitive, you have more chances to be accepted in a CRNA program if you acquire several years of Critical care (ICU) experience. They require 1 year but you will be competing with people who have 4 or 5 years so... it is best to have more than 01 year of experience. You will need that. Trust me. It can be adult ICU or NICU. To help with your credentials, become a ACLS instructor and get the CCRN certification.
When you are ready make sure that the CRNA program you want to go for is accredited. Be prepared to apply for programs throughout the country. Yes. You won't want to spend years applying to the program closest to you and not being accepted so look after all good programs out there and apply. You won't be able to work as you are in the CRNA degree program so plan your financials accordingly. The sooner you start it, the earlier you will enjoy a life of financial freedom for you and for your family.
I wish you the best!

Pick a major that interests you so you don't mind devoting a majority of your hours to studying. You will need to get good grades in college in order to apply for medical school. At the medical school I attended, the average GPA is reported to be 3.85, so even one or two B's can hurt your chances of acceptance.
Aside from this, any major is acceptable as long as you complete the prerequisite courses. I chose to major in biochemistry because there was overlap with the premed requirements and I wanted to complete my degree in 3 years.
Typical medical school prerequisites include:
Biology: Lecture – 4 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
General Chemistry: Lecture – 2 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
Organic Chemistry: Lecture – 2 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
Biochemistry: Lecture – 1 semester
General Physics: Lecture – 2 semesters; Lab – 1 semester
Math: Statistics – 1 semester
English: Rhetoric (Composition) and Literature – 2 semesters
Try to find opportunities to pursue research.
Volunteer at your local hospital or low-income clinic. Ask physicians, PAs or other clinical providers if you can shadow them.
During college study for and complete the MCAT. Devote an entire summer to studying for the MCAT and consider paying for a prep course if you can afford it.
My son used MCAT Complete 7-Book Subject Review 2019-2020: Online + Book + 3 Practice Tests (Kaplan Test Prep) Kaplan Test Prep
It was about $140 and he achieved his goal score.
Apply to medical schools during your last year of college.
Medical school takes 4 years to complete.
After medical school anesthesiologists complete a 4 year residency for additional training.

The process starts from premed when you take MCATs followed by Med school. After finishing Medical school there are licensing exams called USMLEs followed by application process for residency programs which are four years, there is an optional one year of fellowship in a subspecialty. Finally one has to take exams given by American Board of Anesthesiology.
It is a long process but a rewarding one.
