How can I get into being an antique dealer?
Hello everyone. My name is Yavor. I'm 17 and I currently live in a small town in Bulgaria called Tryavna, but I have lived in Panorama City, Los Angeles, California. My question is: Since I'm looking forward to studying antiques after high school, I'm wondering how I could possibly begin my venture? Are there any sites, besides Ebay and Amazon, where I could look for and sell old things? And any job openings/spaces for antique picking?

Antique stores are frequently mom and pop run businesses, you may be able to volunteer at one of these shops to learn about antique quality and value. As you are learning, think about if there is a specific set of products that you may be thinking about specializing in. The history of each type of object and the renowned artists in that category will greatly affect value. Visit museums and read books. Look at smaller auction sites to see what prices people pay for items.
Pottery, watches, jewelry, metalwork and small items may be easier to work with as you are starting. Yard sales here in the US are places where some people do their hunting.
For business opportunities, some people provide services to help clean out homes prior to the sale of a home, you may find treasures in the items that are set to be hauled to the trash pile. So be creative, you may need to get dirty to find a treasure.
