Hey there Brandon!,

Although your career goal statement is great and shows that you are hardworking, you would definitely benefit from adding a bit more detail in it. You would want to start by choosing a career that you desire and ensure you include it in your statement. From there, you want to talk about WHY you want to achieve a position in said career, make sure you emphasize your passion for this career. Continuing on, you will want to create a timeline showing WHAT you will do to gain experience/education towards your career and WHEN you plan on doing each specific task. To wrap it all up, you will want to write about the SKILLS you are going to achieve and HOW they will benefit you towards your goals.

Make sure you choose your career goal carefully, think 10-20 years from now and realistically imagine yourself in your dream position, think about all the aspects such as, the hours you will work, your schedule (whether it is set or variable), and if it will truly fulfill you and make you happy.

Other than that, I wish you good luck!

Sricharan’s Answer

Hey Brandon,

It's great to see that you have good goals to begin with. Your only aim when you choose any career that you desire should be to excel in that career. Like you rightly noted, hard work is always very important for you to succeed. Along with hard work, you need to constantly learn and adapt - you should have a motto of life long learning. You should look for new opportunities, and leverage those opportunities as and when they pop up. Don't be afraid of taking calculated risks. Without risks, there is no reward or growth.

Along with all these, make sure you continue to be compassionate towards others, and help your co-workers by being a team player. Also take care of all the things around you, and be a responsible citizen.

Good luck ! Hope you excel in whatever path you choose.
