CHARLES’s Answer
I worked in a Chemistry lab over 45 years, and found it to be worthwhile form the standpoint of helping patients, because without a lab test, its difficult for doctor's and nurse's to diagnosis and help the patient. Keep in mind its a four year program and you get a Bachelor's degree to become a Medical technologist. I always wanted to work in healthcare knowing jobs will be there because people get sick and so many hospitals/labs are 24/7 so you have the flexibility to work various shifts to fit your schedule. Plus you use your brain all day long which keeps you mentally sharp, and its a job you usually do not take home once you clock out. Hope this helps.

Working in healthcare has been very rewarding for me. As an Audiologist, working in a medical center, I have identified and diagnosed hearing loss in newborns, children and adults. The best part is proving viable and practical solution options, as for example, hearing aids, cochlear implants, or referrals to other related disciplines such as ear nose n throat doctors or speech pathologists. Also, I love to answer parents questions and provide guidance regarding their children’s hearing loss and amplification options.
