There are salary ranges for nurses. Different states have different pay rates. The internet has many resources on salaries.
Some employers also give stipends for different levels of education, certifications or specialties.

I agree with Marie above and will add that salary also differs based on the type of NP you become. What I mean is Adult NP versus ER NP.
In any case you would make enough to support your family.
