In Texas you have to be licensed by https://www.tdlr.texas.gov/midwives/midwives.htm and
Successfully complete of a MEAC- accredited course; or
Successfully complete of a basic midwifery education course approved by TDLR; or
Get a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) certification by NARM
Successfully complete of a MEAC- accredited course; or

Assuming you have the required credentials and experience for the role you are applying for, the next most important thing to do is to research the employer. You should understand the expectations of the job including the required # hours worked, benefits , and learn about the culture of the hospital and how they treat their staff. You can probably find some good information their website but I'd also Google search questions like "Is Hospital ABC a good employer to work for?". Nothing is worse than finding out that the hospital is not a good place to work after going through all the onboarding! Good Luck
