How many years of college would I have to attend to become a Special Needs Nurse, and own my own Special Needs Hospital?

I am simply asking because that is the profession I would like to partake in. #nursing #nurse #pediatric-nursing #nursing-education #medical-assisting #special-needs

If you want to be special needs pediatric nurse running your own business, the following education is essential.
BSN - 3-4 yrs minimum
MSN - basic 1-2 years minimum, specialty an additional 1-2 years
Healthcare management -additional 1 yr minimum with above education
Business degree - additional 1 yr minimum with above education.
Experience - minimum 2-5 years working in the specialty field for certification
Helpful would be a doctorate in the field of nursing you wish to pursue.
This is a very rough outline to reach your goal.
I have a friend in this same specialty though not a business owner that took approx. 9 years for his certification, doctorate and recognition. All while working in the field, teaching and collaborating on textbooks in the field to pay the bills and raising a family.

TO answer the first part of your question, you would go to 4 years of college to get your BSN and then become a licensed RN. Then you could get an additional certification in developmental disability nursing! (https://ddna.org/certification/ ) In order to own your own special needs hospital you would probably need to add a business degree to your schooling or partner with someone who know the business and engineering field. You can do it if you set your mind to it! Network and meet people who can help you accomplish your dreams!
