It takes away the nannies built in the schooling system. There is no one telling what do or not to do; you have to mange yourself. However, I have to remind you that college/university when the time you learn tools which you are going to use in your career.

Hi Vasili S. I see that you posted this question a little while ago so I hope my answer to you (or others who may read this response) is still helpful.
Two words...overcoming obstacles.
One of the best gifts I got while I was in college that helped me prepare for the real world was learning how to overcome obstacles. In my case, not graduating was not an option and I was in a curriculum that I had been seeking since I was in my 2nd year of high school. Both of these things, along with others, were major motivators for getting me through those classes...where there were days...when I thought the semester would never end. I am here to report that the semester does, indeed, eventually end :).
While in college and once an individual has graduated, there is a pretty high likelihood that there will be obstacles. As individuals learn the methods to overcoming obstacles, for instance, understanding difficult concepts, getting a rhythm for effective time management, getting a spot on that awesome research or project team...successes of these types generally come after overcoming some set of obstacles and the more an individual overcomes, the less severe those obstacles may feel.
Hope you find this answer helpful. Best of luck to you!
