Estelle’s Answer

Anesthesiology is a great field of medicine. You need to be intelligent and quick on your feet. You will be incorporating procedures with deep knowledge of medications and how they interact. Much of anesthesiology is routine: putting healthy patients to sleep for routine surgeries without complications. However, when emergencies arise, anesthesiologists are critical in stabilizing patients for emergency procedures. They also perform epidurals for deliveries and cesarean sections, so they get a lot of variety.

Mansi’s Answer

Before attending medical school to become an anesthesiologist, a student must have a bachelor's degree. This undergraduate degree can be in any discipline but a background in the natural sciences, especially biology, is essential. Strength in chemistry, mathematics, physics and English is also needed.
