What are the drawbacks of being a Dental Hygienist
I've heard a lot of good things about beieng dental hygienists and it seems like a good career. I'm very interested in becoming one, but I would like to know about any cons the job has to offer.

I love being a dental hygienist, it is a very rewarding career. I think one drawback is it is hard on your body (back and neck) and you should take care of it as soon as you start practicing: proper posture and instrumentations, stretches between patients, yoga, massage. Besides that I think it is an amazing career choice.

You will experience burnout at some point in this career. Not to say everyone will but the majority will.
There isn’t potential for growth in this career. You’re limited to just clinical work if you have an associates degree.
If you pursue your bachelor’s then you will have a few more options (research, sales, etc). You will need a master’s if you want to go into teaching.
Other than that, this career is rewarding but can be detrimental on the body in the long run.
