What type of careers can you get into with an economics degree besides and actual economist?

I love Econ and want to major in it and have seen the web sites that show you jobs but have never actually known anyone with a degree in economics besides my teacher so I didn't know what kind of different real world jobs people with economics degrees actually have #career #economics

Hi Stephanie, an ideal career would be in the areas of finance or accounting. You should look out for graduate positions such as Finance Development Programmes, where I am sure your degree will be of great value. All the best.

The beauty of the field of economics is that the skill set you acquire while studying it can be applied to almost any field.
a) business/finance to talk about firm behavior
b) politics to talk about spillover costs or how to "fix" a certain market problem
c) social work to provide insight into how people operate

The list above is just scraping the surface of what you can do with an economics degree.
