If you reach out to the admissions offices, they can usually point you to resources the college offers to pair you with a current student to ask direct questions about the college experience. I find this helpful because current students are very truthful (admission offices can try to 'sell' you on a college so will only tell you all the great things about a school). Having the insight from someone who is just a year or two older is GOLD. And determine ahead of that chat what questions you want to ask/what is important to you. Think about things like:
class size (do you prefer small or large)
access to professors (is this important or not so much?)
culture of the school (is it studious, do people prefer to have fun, is it sports driven, huge for the arts, etc.)
and so on!

You should read information about different colleges. You should also read the reviews of how students who attend those colleges enjoy. If you would like to see firsthand, you should take some college tours.

You might want to consider below factors when you choose college.
1. What major do you want to study?
- You might want to choose the school that have good research, resource, and reputation for the area you want to study
2. The career after graduation.
- The school with stronger alumni networks and better reputation will help you to get better job
3. Your finance situation
- Think about the tuition and potential student loan. How much you can afford? If you are going to take student loan, how much do you want to have?
4. School culture
- Think about what you like/dislike. An environment that makes you feel psychologically safe will help you learn and grow better.
You can talk to the admission office and alumni to get more information and insights about each school. :)
