According to https://www.usnews.com/education/best-graduate-schools/articles/how-to-get-into-dental-school-and-become-a-dentist 55% of applicants attended Dental School. I'd assume the acceptance rate is a bit higher and some people didn't enroll.
https://www.ada.org/en/education-careers/careers-in-dentistry/be-a-dentist/applying-for-dental-school list requirements for Dental School and says most applicants had a 4 year degree.

So I want become a dentist and from the research I have done I have learned
1. You need to do 4 years at a university/college to earn your bachelors degree (yes this is a requirement)
2. You will need to apply to dental school and complete four years there
3. Depending on what type of dentist you want to become so like for example an orthodontist, after dental school you'd need to apply to a residency for 2-3 years.
So over all I think it is very hard, but manageable and anyone could have a good chance to be a dentist if they put their mind to it:)
