Thomas’s Answer

You will spend a large portion of your day review images and scans to help diagnose patients. You will also spend time with patients explaining what you found on their tests. You might also do research or help with studies.

Helene’s Answer

The day is spent in front of a computer reading X-rays, ct, ultrasound, MRI and nuclear medicine studies. There is typically a diverse amount of diseases encountered, among many normal studies. Referring doctors stop by to discuss cases. There is also an option to read from home. Interventional radiologists are also trained to perform procedures such as abscess drainage, fluid drainage from the lungs and abdomen and placement of long term IV lines among other procedures.
