What is Something Unexpected in Being a Dental-Hygienist
I've read a lot about being a dental hygienist, and a lot of the same things pop up like cleaning teeth and educating patients how how to avoid oral diseases, but what is something about your job that doesn't get in the spotlight too much. Not necessarily a good or bad thing, just something that you weren't expecting when you became a dental hygienist.

I want to start by saying that I love what I do and dentistry is an amazing field to be in. I did not expect how many people don't realize the connection between your oral health and overall health. Most patients and even still some physicians look at the mouth and the body as two separate entities, however healthcare professionals now know the importance of keeping them both healthy. I always tell my patients that our body is like a factory and if one department is not working properly, the rest will suffer as well. Also, I was surprised to see how many people are unaware of oral cancer and its risks. I educate my patients how to inspect their mouth every so often for abnormalities.
During Covid- have you seen more abnormal thing pop up than usual? I was wondering that before starting back to work. Is dental hygiene a demanding job? I’d be going for my Masters and trying to work full time.
