How do you become a Kindergarten teacher?
I'm in 8th grade. I have a class called career and technology we learn about what careers we want to to when we are older. My teacher is having us do a project by having us asking questions for the jobs that interests us. #teacher #teaching

Hello Sydnee:
Kindergarten and elementary school teachers usually must have a bachelor’s degree. In addition, public school teachers must have a state-issued certification or license.
PUBLIC kindergarten and elementary school teachers typically need at least a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. PRIVATE schools typically have the same requirement. Some states also require public kindergarten and elementary school teachers to major in a content area, such as math or science.
Those with a bachelor’s degree in another subject can still become elementary education teachers. They must complete a teacher education program to obtain certification to teach. Requirements vary by state.
In teacher education programs, future teachers learn how to present information to young students and how to work with young students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Programs typically include a student-teaching program, in which they work with a mentor teacher and get experience teaching students in a classroom setting. For information about teacher preparation programs in your state, visit Teach.org.
Some states require teachers to earn a master’s degree after receiving their teaching certification and obtaining a job.
SUMMARY
• Get your degree
• Participate in a student internship program
• Get your teaching certification
• Get a master's degree
• Obtain a job

Hi Sydnee,
You normally need to have a college degree of some sort to be a teacher in public education. Some people usually take Education as a major in college. However, you are not limited to those degrees. I would ask you to consider being an English major. As Kindergarten is for some the beginning of learning how to read and write, you would benefit from loving to read and write yourself. Also, as an English major, you do not just have to be a teacher. There are a variety of others job that you might consider. This article has a list of jobs. The salary is from 2019 so you should not focus on those numbers: https://www.glassdoor.com/blog/jobs-for-english-majors/.
Another consideration for a job is this - what do you like to do? What would you do all day if you could? When I was your age, all i wanted to do was write. I wrote all kinds of stories. I do a job called Instructional Design. It means that I create training for people who work at my company. I am very happy as I get to write all day long.
Good luck with your assignment.

You want to complete a bachelors degree; preferably in the education field. You should intern in the school system; preferably in a kindergarten class.
Most school systems want their teachers to have a Masters Degree in Education; a Masters Degree takes 2 years online or in person. You may need to study and pass the PRAXIS exam. Then you want to check with the school system that you plan to work in and see if they require certification. Study for the education certification tests and pass. Good luck.
