Hi Grayson,
Specifically I am not sure about the best college to attend to become a police officer, however, many schools have amazing criminal justice programs. Some people go straight into the academy to be an officer which is great. Others take the time to really learn about different things in criminal justice to help them become better police officers. I would start looking at colleges with very good criminal justice programs to help get the ball rolling! This can also bring you opportunities you never thought about or open different doors for you when it comes to internships or future careers. Hope this helps!

Nick’s Answer
Hello Grayson! That all depends on what kind of law enforcement work you are interested in. For example, an FBI agent works substantially with numbers, complex investigations, and often in an office environment. Whereas, a conservation officer, like a game warden, often works in the remote, wilderness areas. So, having an accounting degree is better for an FBI agent than a game warden.
However you decide to narrow this option, be sure to focus on your career interests. For example, some criminology programs have great approaches to detecting and preventing crime. Others focus on decriminalizing things to “remove” crime. So, visit with alumni of a program and find someone with similar interests to give you recommendations.
