Take some acting classes. Join the Screen Actors Guild. Producers will be more likely to give you a shot.

Donn’s Answer

I think what you're asking is how do I become an actor in films? First, fall in love with acting. You should only pursue is if you love it. Then read books, watch videos about acting, as many as you can. Take acting classes where you will learn acting 101 basics, scene study, improv, etc. If you are a writer and you have a camera or know people who have these things, you can create your own content (films) to act in, which I highly recommend doing. You can save up some money to get a good set of headshots. You can create a resume (don't lie on it, as that will catch up to you). You can write and shoot scenes that can be the beginning of your acting demo reel. You can audition for non union work via actors access, LA Casting and Backstage (West.) You can also try to obtain representation via these platforms. One day you may be cast in a role in a major film project that allows you to join the SAG-AFTRA union where you can then audition for union roles as well as take advantage of the many resources union members enjoy.

So as you can see you have options depending on what kind of films projects you want to be in.

I wish you the best on your journey!
