Hi Daniel,
Best is a relative term. What does it mean to you? Do you want a school known for the program? Or do you want a school that meets your financial needs? I would say that from a degree perspective, there are probably a lot of schools that you could choose.
You need to focus on what works for you. I am going to offer you some questions and some things that you might want to consider:
- Do you want to go to school in your state or out of state? Going to school away from home can be exciting. I learned a lot about who I was as a person by going to school away from home. I was also surprised by how much I missed my family. Back then, it also cost more to go to a school out of state. You should check with the school that you want to attend about cost. Looking back now, I would not have gone to school out of state immediately. I would have done my core classes in my home state. College homework is much harder than high school. It was a difficult challenge to make.
- Does the school that you want to attend give you a competitive advantage? Some people go to Penn State for its world famous business school. Graduating from that school with a business degree can give a person a great advantage when someone is reviewing their resume. This is a rare type of advantage, however. Most jobs do not have a well known school that is "best".
I hope that this information has given you some things to consider when looking for a college.
