Orion, my answer to every question about being successful is you can be successful at anything if you marry 2 things together - what you're good at with what you care about. So, first of all, who do you most want to serve with your work? Because that's what gets you out of bed in the morning. If it's people in homes and buildings, great you've gotten one piece of the equation pointing toward real estate. 2nd part - what are you good at? what gives you energy? Is it persuading, and selling to people? counseling and listening to people? Do you like numbers and detail work and project management? All those things are critical skills for real estate work. If the answer to all those questions is yes, then real estate could be a great profession for you and if it is, then you will be successful. If the answer is to any of those is No, that's o.k. too. Just follow those two questions through and you'll find the place where you can be successful. Best to you...

Katharina’s Answer

Why is it that you are interested in going into real estate? I ask this because it's important to figure out what you're passionate about and what drives/motivates you. You also don't have to decide your career path before going to college. I suggest you try different classes to see what is interesting to you. If you're still not sure, that's ok too! You can always pick a major that is broad enough where you can learn skills that can be applied to different professions. To help you figure out what skills you're good at and what you enjoy doing, look for part time jobs or internships that you can do on the side throughout college. Also, keep an open mind even after you graduate and know that you are always in control of your own path. If you try a career/job you don't enjoy, you can always pivot and do something different.
