Social media has a huge influence on gaining clients. Advertising will also help with gaining clients. Networking plays a big part also. Having friends and family spread the word to people they knows will help also.

Hi Jasmine,
The first thing you should do is define your target customer. Who are these people, where do they live, what places do they frequent etc. You also should define how your business will set you apart from the rest of your competitors--will it be your product offerings, customer experience or perceived value added. Based on this assessment, you should create a marketing plan that will be the most effective for your target audience, which could include a Social Media campaign, advertisements in the local paper, mailers, direct marketing etc.
I hope this helps!

Hi Jasmine,
There are a lot of things to think about when you're starting a business, and it's really important for you to understand your audience before you get started so you can create a service/experience that will delight your customers! I would recommend using this Business Model Canvas which has you answer questions about 9 key aspects of your business: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Business_Model_Canvas

Hi Jasmine!
There are many avenues to go down when marketing for products but the most impactful avenue as of right now is through social media. Create a page on Facebook or Instagram and post as much meaningful content as you can. Ask your friends for support as well by having them "like" or "follow" your page so then your reach will expand! As mentioned in the above answers, you can also go through print ads! The important thing to note is to research your target audience and what makes them want to purchase.
Good luck!

Hi Jasmine,
To market any product - the fundamental aspect is the product itself.
1. What is the product all about?
2. Why should one buy from you/or buy your product?
3. What is the price of the product and where does your customers buy such products from?
Once these fundamentals are in place, you can start working on your marketing plan. There are various media formats like print, radio, TV, outdoor, digital (includes your website, online search, digital ads, social media etc). Which ones to use and how much to invest in them would depend on your product and the customers you would like to have. For a plant nursery business, do you think TV or radio is worth it? Or should you use more of online search or outdoor? Such decisions would initially be a bit of trial and error, unless you there is a competitor having a successful model and you have some reference already.
And do remember, every marketing investment you make it should either build the brand or get you substantial return on investments. In this case good quality leads which get converted to sales.
Hope this gives you a broad understanding.
Regards
Rohit

Prepare an abstract of your project/business, understand the requirement of your product in the outer market, make a list of the type of customers suitable to be your target. Advertise your product uncommonly.

In addition to working on your social media presence as others have suggested, I'd also recommend building your website and making sure that it is optimized with the right keywords for Search Engines like Google to find you. There are great, inexpensive products you can purchase (lots have a free trial period) that help you with this. Then, once your site is up, make sure to ask your happy customers for reviews and referrals. Word of mouth and referrals are very important.
