Yes, Science and math are building blocks that are essential for veterinary medicine as well as any other medicine. During veterinary education, you will have to learn about physiology of normal organ/cell/system, and pathophysiology of diseases. For understanding of these concept requires science background.

Yes, science and math would be helpful in any kind of medicine. The reason for math is dosing medication per weight of the person or animal.
