hello, there are many many job possibilities for you in education, it all depends on what you want to focus on. Go for it!
Think about what influenced you to go into education, was it is a teach or counselor that inspired you to consider going into education?
There are many options in the education field. I work for an digital learning technology company and it is just as involved in education as being a teacher.
There are many different occupation areas in the education field here are some.
you can be a:
teacher of course - traditional in a school or tutoring remotely
develop educational tools like the learning courses - editor who designs the materials, engineer who builds the software and platforms
counseling - assessing a child's needs and providing advice
curriculum design - creating and deciding what is need for a student, the school, the area
researcher - create new ways to teach, work on education policy
school administration - helping to enroll students, operations like classroom layout, programs design like sports or events
sales - understand the product and needs of the school/student/customer
do some after school activities like volunteer at the YMCA or youth camps

As Andrea shared, there are a number of things you can do in the Education field from being a teacher to an administrator. If you want to specialize in a particular area there are also occupations such as paraprofessionals working with students with special needs, social workers, school counselors, curriculum directors, athletic directors, behavior specialists, deans, technology specialists, interventionists, secretaries, school nurses, etc. Each of these areas require different types of education and training.
If you are specifically interested in being a preschool teacher, you may want to look at the difference between what you can do with a 2 year Child Development degree versus a 4 year major with a teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education.
And if you are not looking to work in the K-12 education setting there are a number of other fields in education you can consider as well. I taught in the classroom and now work with a Learning company that supports school districts.

I live in a rural part of the US and know a few owners of pre-school & daycare businesses. They are always looking for help to come along side their teachers, provide group support and a variety of others tasks. This could be a great way to get experience in dealing with children and understanding what it takes to be an educator. This time can also provide you counsel those who have made this their career. You could use this "part-time" work to affirm that a 4 year degree commitment will lead you to a field you have a heart for.
