If you have some ideas on what you would like to go into for your future career, then it is best to start exploring those as early as you can. There are so many different types of career paths you can take and starting to learn about them early will help you know if that career might really be of interest to you or not. If you can job shadow someone in that career field or a job that you have an interest in you will get a good feel for what their typical day looks like. This will help you recognize if this is something still of interest to you or not.
For me, I had an interest in education, so my junior year of high school I helped out in two different classrooms at the elementary: one was the school library and the other was a special education classroom. I quickly realized I loved working with students with special needs and so from there I pursued a Bachelors in Psychology and obtained my state teaching certificate for Special Education so I could become a Special Education teacher.
