I am a current Junior in high school and I hope to become a CRNA. While I was researching about the career, I found out that there’s only a few CRNA’s in the US. Why is that?

Certified Nurse Anesthetists are in high demand. I do not know what site you are researching because CRNA's are always being recruited to our hospital and local surgery centers. They generally work scheduled hours with night call scheduled as well, so they can plan their life outside of work predictably. They can also work as travelling CRNA's in high demand areas for shorter periods of time.

Sallie’s Answer

Hi Estelle, my partner is currently an RN working to become a CRNA and from what I understand there are definitely more CRNA than your research has provided you. He did want me to note that you do need to complete your RN degree which is 2 years of medical school before being able to start working on your CRNA degree. I forgot to ask if its required however he did say that having field experience prior to the CRNA exam is useful and that most people are not able to hold employment during school for the CRNA so make sure you're making conscious financial decisions to prepare for that
