From a high level, my advice would be to find what part of the film industry you're most passionate about; this will drive your ambition when facing challenges and ultimately, your next steps. If there are certain professionals whos work you admire, research their journey. Don't be hesitant to reach out to them directly, such as through LinkedIn, as you'll be surprised how many people are willing to help others. You could also become involved with local film programs to find what interests you most.

What sorts of things have you done so far towards a film career? Maybe you should look into small film festivals. Either to enter a film yourself or attend one to meet and network with people like yourself. Maybe there is a virtual event you could join as well. I'm sure once you meet some people you will have connections and some work that might guide you to the right school and program for you.

You can look for "film majors" - there are a number of colleges / universities out there that offer film programs, both from a production perspective (ie. making films) as well as a theoretical perspective (ie. writing and thinking about films and their impact on our society). There are a lot of ways you can be involved in the film industry. Some roles require very specific training, like animation or editing, and some are about starting in the industry and then building a career from there.
