The best method for reading is visualizing what you have read.
1)Try to visualize what you have read.
2)Take notes.
3)After taking notes, go through it once again after you have completed it.
4)If it's a book, note down the topics , google all those once , learn the concept and then repeat the above steps.

Hi!
- Consistency is the main thing.
Because we can start with your favourite books or non-favourite books as textbooks but we start feeling bored after sometime.
The best we can do, is to set the consistency matrix that From this time to next one hour, you will sit and read. Beacuse Once you get this habit, you never know when that one hour got past away.
- Try to avoid distractions at least during consistency hours. (ex. Mobile Phones etc.)

For some people like myself, getting a big picture of the topic can do a lot to help towards retention. I'll take a look at the table of contents to get an idea of the structure, flow, and purpose of the book. Having more context about a book gives me a much better idea of how to read each page and paragraph within the larger whole.

Everyone has a different way of Reading. You have to find yours. I have mentioned below few pointers that can help in reading effectively.
1. Give a quick look at the Table of Contents to get an idea of what you will be reading.
2. You can set some reading goals every day, this will keep you on track.
3. Take breaks in between, don't tire yourself. This is very Important.
4. You can underline important things that you want to remember or can use marker to highlight things you want to refer later. There are other ways, you can use sticky notes as well.
5. Think about what you are reading, make a story if you can around it, this will help you remember it for long.
6. Summarise when done or reread if something is not clear.
7. Next day, when starting again, recall what you read before.
These are some things that you can follow.

Hi!
I have found what works best for me is:
1. Skim through the material and understand the flow of the chapter
2. Go back and start from the beginning and make comprehensive notes as you go along
3. Re-read your notes and revise what you've understood and mark your problem areas
4. Work through the problems given at the end to test your understanding
