Jason’s Answer

Stanford is the 2nd best Engineering school in the US, and the best in California. Berkely is ranked a close 3rd overall and 2nd in California. Like Roger noted, Stanford, University of California-Berkley, California Institute of Technology, UCLA, California Polytechnic State University are all excellent engineering schools in California. I would recommend reading up on their different programs and campus life to see if it's a good fit for you.

Per US news: Stanford, Berkely, CIT, UCSD, UCLA in that order

Roger’s Answer

After counseling students for years regarding college/university choices, I found these decisions were difficult for students to make. In California, there are a number of exceptional universities for engineering. The key is to be accepted and gain scholarship money to attend if need be. Stanford University, University of California-Berkley, California Institute of Technology, UCLA, California Polytechnic State University are all exceptional for engineering. University of California-Davis and University of California-Irvine are good choices as well.
