Dan’s Answer

Once you make the decision to become a doctor, you will come to point in your third year of medical school where you will have to decide if you want to be a surgeon. The training is 4 years of medical school followed by 5 to 7 years of residency/fellowship. My favorite aspect of surgery is that I have the ability to fix a persons' problem and can watch them return to good health. This ability has shaped my view of life as an optimist and a belief that I can make a difference for the better.
