Your first job is a great way to make some extra cash and learn some skills. It can even help you to decide what you want or don’t want in a career down the line.
Some great first jobs include:
-camp counselor
-religious school assistant teacher
-cashier/grocery store worker
-waiter
-sales (target/Best Buy etc)
While a first job may have nothing to do with what you want to be when you are an adult, any job can give you great experience. You learn to work with others, to be professional, and what it’s really like to have others counting on you. Remember that each job leads to the next, make sure to make a good impression because you may go back one day and ask for a letter of recommendation. Good luck!
Look for local camps that are hiring
Ask if stores are hiring
Ask what kind of experience local jobs require
Once hired, work hard & make a good impression!

I'd consider looking at the trade jobs such as plumbing, welding, HVAC, or electrician. These jobs are in great demand and you can get into these fields right out of school by getting a certification.

In a first job, it is important to learn to work with others and how to be a team player. Some jobs may include: fast food, waiter, retail. It is important to always remember no job is "too good". We all have to start somewhere. There is no "easy" job - all of those include hard work, determination and patience. Always be willing to learn from others as well as be willing to accept feedback from others. In addition, do what you say you are going to do and communicate well. Be dependable and on time, be willing to do extra so that is shows you have drive.
