Hi Emmalie! I don't think so; I think you can still teach and go to school as well. My best friend's mom is a teacher and she also has been pursuing her education as well. I think she is going for her Master's; it definitely is a lot of hard work and time consuming but she still got to work! I think it's important to look into the programs you are interested in and see how long it will take to complete. It may be longer if you are working but that's okay! Being an adult and student is hard work so don't worry if it may take longer than usual!
I wish you the best!

It depends on what you are looking to do. There are weekend, evening, online, and community school classes which have made going back to school easier. It's a matter of if you are willing to give up your free time to meet these goals. You don't necessarily have to stop teaching, but you'd have to make some short-term sacrifices to do so.

Hi Emily,
As mentioned in the previous answer, it really depends on the degree you are willing to pursue. I have several friends who obtained their masters degrees (e.g. M.A., M.S., M.Ed. , M.B.A.) while working full-time. There are a lot of programs designed for working professionals (with classes scheduled after 5 p.m. or in the weekends, with flexible course loads etc.). Most likely, you'll have to put in a lot of extra hours and it'll leave you limited free time, but if you are determined to obtain your degree, I think it is doable.
Best of luck in your future studies!

Hi Emily. Whether you have to stop teaching to go back to school or not depends on the school program that you're pursuing. My undergraduate was a full-time program, so I had to be in school full time. However, for my graduate degree, I was in a part-time program designed for people who still wanted to work. My classes were in the evenings and on weekends which was worked very well for my work schedule.
If you still want to work, I highly recommend a part-time program. These programs are not offered by all colleges and universities but you may find one that you like that does offer such a program.
Good luck!
