Hi Hannah!
Great question you have asked, that's really great you have a dream school! In terms of keeping your grades up, definitely partner up with your teachers and be sure that you are asking any questions you have for them pertaining to their class. Teachers are there to help you learn and understand, and they are always willing to help a student-- it's part of what makes teachers so great! Along with getting good grades, getting into colleges can be competitive, so in order to stay competitive it is typical to have good grades, community service hours, some recommendations from teachers, etc. Also, are you in any student groups such as Art club, debate club, National Honor Society, etc? Being active in student groups also helps get that competitive edge over others when applying to schools.
Good luck!

1. Do not go partying or doing things that can cause distractions 2. Look at professional organizations to meet professionals in the field and helps with knowing the field 3. Don't focus on the name of the school but look at community college then transfer to a university since going straight to a university causes a lot of pressure 4. Look at what you want to do as well as volunteer to gain more knowledge

Hi Hannah,
This is a great question. I know it can be hard to keep good grades when there is a lot going on. I have a few recommendations:
1. Do your best to create a consistent schedule for doing your homework and studying. Do you have a job, family responsibilities or extracurriculars outside of school you need to balance? When can you squeeze time in between other responsibilities for school work? Maybe it's 4-6 everyday, or sometime after dinner. Consistency can help make sure you stay on track.
2. Work with your teachers, if you can. Are there any specific classes you're having trouble maintaining a good grade in? Teachers are often willing to work with students if they know they really want to succeed. If there's a certain class you need extra support in, I'd recommend reaching out to your teacher to make a plan for success.
3. Like I mentioned above, do you have any responsibilities outside of school? Colleges are interested in your experience as a whole person. Maybe you spent high school on a sports team, caring for younger siblings, or working a job to support your family. These are all really valuable life skills that a college would love to hear about when it comes to application time.
4. I'd also like to say that while focusing on school and keeping your grades up is important, this is also the only time you will be in high school. If you'd like to, I'd recommend spending time with friends and/or family and also have fun. High school can be really hard, but it's also a unique time in your life, so don't push yourself too hard. :)
I hope this is helpful, and good luck!
