Yours is a big and rather challenging question!
A career in clinical laboratory sciences can lead to work in many different settings (e.g., hospitals/clinics, forensic labs, veterinary clinics, industrial research & development labs) and each has its own unique challenges.
As a field, there is a lot to focus on. Right now, I'd guess that COVID-19 is the biggest worldwide challenge in the field! This article is a little dated (it's from 2016), but it outlines some general challenges, pre-pandemic: https://www.elitecme.com/resource-center/laboratory/top-10-issues-facing-medical-lab-professionals
I think it's great that you've engaged this forum for input, but I imagine you'd get even better responses if you could be a little more detailed about the aspects of the field you want to know more about. In the meantime, you can try to research the field on-line.

I'd say recruitment is a big challenge. Not many students know about the profession to pursue it. It's often overlooked as a career choice because we are not typically seen when you walk into a healthcare facility.
Also as technology advances some techs wonder if their jobs are secure. I've been doing this 15years and I do think there will always be a need for techs.
This career is great on its own or as a foundation to nursing/ med-school.
Definitely look into medical technology / clinical lab science degree programs if interested.
