Which is easier to maintain: a blog or a vlog?

I've been thinking about starting a blog about my endeavors in college as a musical theatre student and to share the knowledge I'm gaining from my experiences in this field. Now I'm considering creating a YouTube channel to express my thoughts. I'm not sure platform which I should commit my time to, or should I try both? #networking #social-media #youtube #blogging

Hi Sydney,

I think it's hard to compare a blog and a vlog because the type of content is fundamentally different. In my opinion, a vlog is harder because creating a great video takes time, you need to have great content, have a good presence and some gear and good editing skills to get good results so writing a good article on a blog might require less time. BUT considering how video content is exploding these days (you can clearly see how the big player like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter YouTube, Vine and Snapchat have invested in it) it make sense to invest there and promote your content through these channels ;)

If you really want to start getting active on YouTube, do it now, you'll learn a lot! Open your channel, add a quick description and start recording and uploading.

There are plenty of resources on the Internet to help, including these links I'd advise you to check out:

Hi Sydney R,
The easiest way to express your thought is via vlog & can reach millions of viewers in short span of time. Start with YouTube which is easy to maintain (though some extra works for editing & color corrections of the videos). Also consider promoting the videos via Facebook marketing. There are tools in Facebook to advertise videos to get more viewers. Thanks..

Great advice above! Those serve two different purposes, so it depends on your skills and passion. If you really enjoy writing, pursue the blog, but my advice for you ado a music theatre student would be to take a chance with blog.

Use YouTube as a creative outlet to showcase your talents and express yourself. A picture speaks a thousands words and you can always use the description or title effects to convey a message or theme!

If you choose to, I wish you the best and hope to come across your work one day!
