What jobs might I like and be good at?

My favorite subject is reading/English. I don’t really like math, science, or history. I want to do something in human services, and don’t really like animals or things dealing with the body. I really like kids and music. #kids

Hi Bekka! You could be a social worker or guidance counselor! I think a lot of counselors help students in their education. These are just some ideas; I'm not too sure about the exact path of it. I know there are certain exams to take to get your social workers license and both fields require a Bachelor's. Below I attached 2 links about social worker requirements and guidance counselor! As a last note, in order to really be sure about your passion remember to also get experience and maybe do internships or volunteer!
I hope this helps!
Best of luck!

Hi Bekka!

It sounds like you have a great grasp on your likes and dislikes, which is important when deciding on a career. There are many opportunities for young adults who are in school to teach kids, and while you are still in school or if you are undecided on if teaching is for you, you can try out a program abroad where you teach English to kids. I have been told by friends who have done these programs that it was a fun learning experience where they gained better insight of what they want to do, and you get a chance to travel and make some money.

I found this resource that may be helpful: https://bridge.edu/tefl/blog/10-best-places-teach-english-abroad/

Best of luck :)

Kristen’s Answer

I agree with Lyndsay! If you like children, it sounds like an English or reading teacher might be something you would excel at. You could also go into journalism or even write grant requests for non profit agencies if you are good writer. Whatever it is you do, I am sure you will be successful!

Lila’s Answer

Hi ! There is a plenty of possibilities to be with kids. For exemple you can become an au pair for one or two years in a foreign country. You will take care of the kids but also have free time to travel and discover another country and culture. Then when you are back here, you will have a strong experience with kids and continue on another job to take care of them.
