Hello! You will receive many opinions and different responses to this question. The working conditions of working with animals vary based on different personalities and situations. Why not volunteer or work part-time in an animal hospital, shadow a veterinarian, and such to experience the environment for yourself? Exploring this field before committing to it would be a valuable experience for you and you can learn about yourself in the process. I know many animal lovers who work in animal shelters or clinics and there are always different responses about their workday; some people are stressed out because of the animal-owners, some are enjoying it daily because they can handle challenges, etc. I would definitely recommend that you see first-hand different scenarios and different environments - clinics, hospitals, private offices, shelters, etc. to explore your interest.

Thank you comment icon I definitely agree. I had an internship an animal hospital and currently volunteer at animal shelters. Andrea
Thank you comment icon Thanks! This is perfect for me, as a 6th grader, to do, I've even asked my dad about volunteering in a vets office or animal place!! Haevyn

Lirio’s Answer

Working with animals can be incredibly rewarding, especially if you love them! The environment varies depending on your specific role, such as being a veterinarian, animal trainer, or working in a shelter.

In many cases, you’ll spend time interacting with animals, which is fulfilling. However, it can also be challenging. Animals may not always behave as expected, and dealing with frightened or injured animals can be stressful. Additionally, you may encounter emotional situations, like caring for sick animals or helping them through the end of their lives.

The work can also be physically demanding, requiring you to be on your feet for long periods and handle animals of various sizes and temperaments.

Overall, while there are stressful moments, many people find the joy of helping and caring for animals to be worth the challenges. If you have a passion for animals, this field can be incredibly fulfilling!
