If you are looking for opportunities to get experience in nursing consider joining the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman! The Navy will train you to become a professional health care provider to Navy and Marine personnel. It will open up various opportunities to you in the Navy or on the outside as a Veteran with Qualified Medical Training.

This is ultimately up to you. Research, research, research! Go on job boards like indeed.com, and search jobs or careers you might be interested in. Job listings will often have requirements and skills needed for the position. To make a good informed decision, you have to be willing to reach out to people in the profession. This can be hard for some people to do, but it is so important. Find a way to make yourself do it if you're on the shy side. Contact places you might like to work. Ask if they allow people to shadow their workers. Some businesses will let you spend time there just so you can see what really goes on. Ask if you can schedule an informational interview (not a job interview.) This gives you a chance to sit down with someone in the profession, ask questions and talk about the job they have. Good luck to you!

I think it's absolutely wonderful you're looking into your future! I was actually a paramedic for about 8 years so I can speak into that interest you may have.
As it's a very fast-paced, mentally & physically taxing job at times, a lot of medics actually have only a few years in the field before transferring to more stable sources of medicine much like trauma nursing with bridge programs.
The pay is usually not significant for county services, however learning more about your region, helping citizens around your locale can become very very rewarding by pouring into your community in this way.

Hi Shaianne,
I applaud you for thinking about your future! There is a lot of time to figure out where your interests lie. I would start by sitting down and thinking about what you enjoy and what you like to do. Then try to narrow your job search in those particular areas. You may want to consider interviewing folks in the fields you are interested in or asking for a job shadow opportunity.
Good luck!

Take some time to explore the different subjects in school so you get a feeling for what you find interesting and fun. It is very important to be happy in your work since much of your day will be spent there. There is plenty of time to change your mind or your field of study as you get older when you find something new that really interests you.
