Rebecca’s Answer
Homework usually can help you to deepen the understanding and practice what you have learnt. Do you encounter any difficulties to complete all the homework? Or, you cannot complete the homework on time?
For earlier case, you can look for your teacher's assistance. If later case, perhaps you can review your time management. You can assign more time to complete your homework before doing other things.
Hope this helps!

If they did they will not be helping you to acquire education.
Your question should be why teachers give less homework.
You will thank your teachers one day who make you work hard.

Hello!
I feel like this depends on the age of the student! Homework is a great way to reinforce learning that has been done in the classroom. It gives the student a chance to see if they know the material and it also gives the teacher a chance to see what material they still need to cover in class. There are mixed opinions on whether or not assigning homework is truly beneficial or not! I do feel like students will get out of it what they put into it. It may not always be fun! But it does serve a purpose!

Teachers can often give less homework, but a big part of the equation is how invested the class is in the learning. Often, if the class shows no interest or enthusiasm for a class, all the teacher can do is assign arbitrary assignments and homework. Its the most trackable version of learning and makes it the easiest for the teacher to record and demonstrate progress in learning the material. However, if you are interested in other types of assignments, let the teacher know, and they will often be willing to allow you to change the assignment to a type you'd find more preferable.

Anna,
I feel your pain! It seemed that the teachers thought theirs was the only class! Getting homework in every class, every night, gets old. It takes up all of your "Free" time, after you spent all day in school.
Perhaps this is something that could be addressed by your student council. What would I recommend? Perhaps require teachers to assign homework only on certain days. You could have English and Social Studies on Monday and Wednesday, Math and Science on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Other subjects could be on any night. Homework for any subject should not take more than 45 minutes to complete. This of course does not include special projects. Exams could be given only on Mondays, after having had a free weekend with adequate study time.
Will it happen? probably not. But, if it means that much to you, it's time you start learning how to bring about change. This is a good introduction.
You might want to start by keeping a record of how much time you spend on homework each night, and which subjects it is for. That way you can speak with a degree of research to back up what you are saying.
Good luck!
