Lisa’s Answer

I love working with young people! I always felt like I learned more from them then I was able to teach. Does that make sense? I’m 71 now and really miss teaching!

Rachel’s Answer

I chose teaching because it gives me the opportunity to do what I love while at the same time incorporate many life lessons into the material I teach. I want to make a difference for my students, inspire them, and hopefully show them how beautiful learning can be.

Hello Amareshwaran,

The Teaching is a noble profession since the old era. it is always a inspiring field which encourage you to give your best to the deserving candidates.

I am from the technical background but the teaching always attract me. To become a teacher one can opt for the educational degree that is B.Ed., BSc. etc. the government conducts some exams to select the candidates for government schools.

If you want to become a lecturer in India you can choose the NET Examination. UGC NET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility for the assistant professor or JRF award.

The post graduate candidates can apply for the UGC NET Exam which is conducted twice a year.

apart from the lectureship this exam make you eligible to go for the research or scientist associate.

Find out your passion and go for it.

If teaching is your passion then know the way and start walking on it.

All the best!!

Gail’s Answer

Hi Amareshwaran,

I started out wanting to be a German teacher and figured out that I would not have many job opportunities. Schools are phasing out German and replacing it with Spanish for the most part. One day I was driving with my dad who is a scientist and he suggested I look at the computer field.

I did and decided to major in computer science and math at the university. I started my career with programming and eventually changed to quality assurance and business analysis.

I chose these careers mostly because there are lots of jobs and I could move pretty much anywhere. The money is good so that was also a criteria.

Good luck!
Gail
