How does one become/apply to be a traveling nurse?
I like traveling and know that it takes a lot of money, but I also would like to help people and not be stuck in one place for too long.

Hi Caroline!
Travel nursing is a great position for someone that likes to travel and can adapt to any situation. It also helps prevent you from getting stuck in one place, as you said. Assuming you have a couple of years of experience as a nurse, you can apply to be a travel nurse through agencies: Aya healthcare, Emerald Health Services, Fusion, Cross Country Nursing are the popular agencies that staff travel nurses. Once you apply to a position in a state of your choice on one of their websites, a recruiter will reach out to you to verify your credentials and walk you through the next steps.
I hope this helps!

This is exactly what I wish I would have done immediately after high school. As long as you have your RN (I'm sure LPN's can travel as well), you just look for travel opportunities. They will usually pay you a stipend to live in the area, and they will either provide you a place to live, or they will give you living expenses. This way, you can live cheaply (and save more money!). This is one of the best career paths if you would like to explore and see different parts of the US. I say go for it :)
