As you search for the type and location of nursing schools you would like to attend, look at the requirements regarding the number of IG and As classes/subjects the school requires/considers. Also, look at what else the nursing school will look at in considering your activities and application (for example, volunteer work, other school activities, and hobbies).
Nursing is a profession where you can impact the health and wellness of people across the world. The World Health Assembly (World Health Organization, 2021) designated that 2020 was the Year of the Nurse and Midwife. Additionally, 2020 was the 200th anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth. Florence is our historical leader of nurses who was a scientist, researcher, teacher, writer, and demonstrated care in her actions, thoughts, and practice of nursing today (1969). Her scientifically sound work is still in use today. There are many other famous nurses of the past and present who have contributed to the nursing profession as well.
Here are two (2) sources of information on nursing education in consideration of what may be different from one country to another. The
International Council of Nurses noted as the ICN (2021a) consist of national nurses associations across the globe. In South Africa, there is the South African Nursing Council (2021). The website (see link below) includes information on education and training and educational institutions. At the top of the website is an area to click for SANC’s contact information. As I have listened and learned from nurses from other countries, I find that some aspects of the education can be different than what I am custom to and this is the reason why I provided an international nursing organization and a South African resource. I have noted differences in the depth of knowledge provided in countries such as in midwifery practice in nursing schools in various countries that can be different than other basic nursing programs.
Continue your hard work in school, focus on your studies, and you may find just what you are looking for in the provided resources. Looking forward to seeing you as a nurse, remembering that nursing includes life-long learning, and consist of rewarding hard-work with a team of healthcare providers, dedicated leaders, and learning from people locally and across communities world-wide.

Hi Chinedu!
If you are a senior (about to graduate high school), I would suggest looking into nursing schools in whatever country you plan to study in. Nursing will take 4 years and after that, you will be licensed to practice as a nurse. Your grades will help in your acceptance to many nursing programs! If you have a counselor or someone in school that you can talk to regarding your plans, I would suggest doing so to get a head start. Above all, the nursing school admittance depends on what country you are applying in.
I hope this helps :)
