How to use on line websites efficiently for my career?

I am completed my MCA this year and need to find a good job. I am not interested in lecturing and banking. I am interested to find a job in a good software company and I think our resume is a crucial document that makes or breaks your chance of getting an interview. So I need to write a good resume. Is there anyone to tell me how to write a good resume and what are the things to consider preparing the best resume? Can I use resume writing services. I found a professional resume writing service #career #resume and I don't know it is good or bad. Please provide me some knowledge about is on line resume writing services are good or bad.

The college or university you are attending for your MCA should have career services for free, including resume writing. They should have a few recommended formats. You can also search online for good resume examples, tips, dos and don'ts. Find one specific to the type of job you are looking for, such as software engineer or data analyst.

I also strongly recommend having a powerful, crisp and genuine LinkedIn Profile. All hiring managers look at LinkedIn profiles along side resumes. They need to match and your career objectives/statement needs to align on both. Be super clear on what you want. Check out other LinkedIn profiles of professionals in the field you are interested in to get ideas.

Good luck!

Hi Oliver,

I will add one note as someone that reviews a lot of resumes - one of the biggest things I look for (and this is in part because it is a necessity for the position I hire for) is attention to detail. I pay attention to things like spacing, format, font type and size, dates, etc. For example, whatever date format you use, be sure it is consistent throughout your resume.

If the jobs you are looking at require a high level of attention to detail, a resume is a great way to show that you have this skill by making sure all of the little details are in place.

I will also mention that I often see candidates overlooking the importance of a cover letter. A cover letter should be specific to the job you are applying for (you can start with a generic template, but be sure to customize it to the specifics of the job). It should not just repeat what is on your resume either. It should build upon your resume and/or cover any gaps in your experience. It should also show your genuine interest in the role and why you believe you would be a good fit.

Hope these help a little!

Good luck!

Hi,

As a first step towards your job search a good resume and a covering letter are extremely important to get you noticed in the crowded job market. Professional resume services do help you with a decent start. A lot depends on the inputs you provide for writing the resume so do visit job portals to check out sample resume formats. It should also be relevant to the field that you choose and your strengths in that particular domain needs to stand out.

Good luck.
