I want to be a construction worker. How did you go about becoming one? What are the steps I should take?

Starting jobs are usually digging ditches or other hard chores. Don't be discouraged. Keep asking questions and expressing interest in how things are done. A lot of people want to share their knowledge.
If you know any construction workers, ask them to recommend you at a site or to a company.

There are many parts of construction. If you're interesting in building houses (residential construction), then think about what parts of it you're interested in. There are framers, roofers, dry-wallers, electricians, plumbers, concrete works. Depending on the company doing the work, many of the trades could be wrapped up in one job. Other companies will use specialized tradespeople to do specific tasks. To get your foot in the door I would recommended researching online for construction companies that are doing projects that interest you and give them a call or send them an email and let them know you are interested in learning more about how to get a similar job.
