How much experience does iPhone photo effects correlate to an actual editing software?
Although I can't add any of my own photos to the question, if you want more information for your answer, all of my work is on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChBL8BkFbIJTMW741epJyfQ . They were all made using iPhone photo editing. Back to the question, I would like to know how much of this experience that I have would follow if I were to continue with photography. #Experience

Modern smartphone apps have made it much easier for people to make dramatic edits to their photos without understanding the powerful professional tools available in Photoshop and other pro software. These smartphone tools vary in how "intuitive" they make photo editing, but you will eventually outgrow the intuitive tools if you want to go further as an image editor.
Mobile apps like Snapseed, Pixlr, and Photoshop express strike a nice balance between easy and (when you're ready) more fine-tuned control that's similar to Photoshop. As you start out, start building your vocabulary of the fine-tune controls that these photo editing tools give you.
- Saturation
- Contrast
- Exposure
- Crop
- Curves
- Highlights
- Shadows
- Tint
- Color Temperature
These are all parameters you can get experience editing in a mobile app, but you will get greater control of these dimensions when you work with a pro photo editing software.

Thank you for the feedback! Did you see any of my work, and if so, on a scale of 1-10 what would you rate it?
