Mmmm, make sure you understand what this "class" is you are taking to "get your nursing license". It's probably a CNA course. CNAs are NOT nurses.
In high school, you do well, volunteer, participate in clubs, and round out your resume. If you can start taking some community college coursework for general education credit, even better.
In college, you will take GE, the nursing prereqs, and once in the nursing program, the courses in the nursing program curriculum.
You will need to get your BSN from an accredited college recognized by the state you wish to practice in. This is a four year process, but you if you get some coursework done early, you might be able to make it a bit shorter.
I also urge you to speak with some nurses so you can get an idea of what you want to do. "Pediatric nurse" is pretty generic. If you end up in a Peds ward, a Children's hospital, or a Peds clinic, understand that you aren't playing with kids on the floor, making them laugh. You are giving shots, running IVs, getting vomited on, and dealing with very very sick children with very very stressed out parents. It's not a very special bonding moment with smiling children and a warm light surrounding you.
