I'd investigate to see what jobs are in demand in your area and work backwards from there. In our country, there are a lot of highly demanded jobs that just require a few months, if that, to certify and be ready for entry-level work, especially more mechanical jobs like plumbing and welding. Just having the right certificate or training could put you in an advantageous position really quickly.

Hi Yamkela, first I would take some time to discover what area you want to work in. Once you know this, network is going to be key. Who do you know, Your parents, your teachers, counselors, if you attend Church, there might be professionals in the congregation who may know someone or is connected with a company which will give you that experience for the job you are pursuing. Basically word of mouth, if you state your interest and make people aware, they will network for you in areas which you cant reach and it will go farther than you think.
If there is any volunteer programs that is available in the field you are interested in, go for it. Many times, because of your work ethics, sometimes that leads to not only experience but a job in the field that want to work in.
Any Job that you get, allows you to acquire a skillset that is marketable.
Lastly, you need to be confident in yourself that you are an asset. The person hiring you must want to take that risk just like it is a risk for you to trust that person or company that you work with that they will have your best interest at heart and pay you well for your work. It is a handshake and so when presenting yourself to attain the experience or chance, explain to the individual, we both are taking a risk, but the juice is worth the squeeze.
Hope this helps.

Hi Yamkela,
First, I would get an idea of the type of job that you would want.
Second, start a resume with any types of small jobs that you have done (tutoring, baby sitting, etc.). Include your name, email, phone number, and any other contact information. Add your skills and interests/hobbies in your resume as well and any activities that you might have been involved with (leadership roles in competitions, volunteer work, etc.).
Next, let someone review your resume for editing.
Finally, I would look for jobs that fit your work interests and send out your resume to those who are hiring. You could even create a LinkedIn depending on the job.
Hope this helps!
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions.

Hello Yamkela,
There are a couple things that come to mind on getting a job with no experience. My first would be once you have identified what you want to do, reaching out to someone in that particular field and asking them questions on how they got started.
1. This will allow you to get an understanding of what skills you need to start in the field immediately
2. They may be able to point you in the right direction in terms of getting experience through internships/volunteering
3. You will start building your network which is key in getting any job especially when you don't have the required experience being asked for but you have demonstrated you have other intangibles like work ethic, quick learner, etc.
I hope this helps.
