Stephenie’s Answer

Various professions/careers want people with a BS degree. Usually they are technologically savy with computer programming, engineering skills; thinking critically with a mathematical and scientific mind. I know too many BS degree people who are in finance, banking, architecture, medical, dental, engineering, education, etc. Everyone with a Bachelor degree is capable of going into any field, given their skills, experience and capability, or going back to graduate school. Of course the more technical fields would prefer degrees higher than a Bachelor, but for the medical profession, a Masters is not always necessary.

David’s Answer

BS degrees are highly valued -- esp. in the fields of computer programming, engineering, math, data analytics, etc. In today's economy, I would say most employers like seeing BS degrees for fields that may not directly require your coursework, but value the way you think through and solve problems. Finance, IT, Analytics, etc. are obvious candidates that like BS degrees, but fields like marketing and HR are also looking for talent that can solve problems through modeling, AI, analytics, programming, etc. The possibilities are endless -- don't think BS are only destined for med schools!

I hope this helps and good luck!
