Hi Rodrigo.

I would say that the latest focus in my field is like the rest of the world, being able to work virtually. As you are getting ready to do a job, teach yourself the best practices of the virtual tools. I don't know what is happening in your country, but in the US, there is a large movement to continue to work from home even after it is safe to go back to work, we will probably continue to be mostly virtual.

I think that it is great that you continue to look for it. I think that shows great initiative.

Healthcare: definitely digital. Telehealth has had a major breakthrough since the pandemic. Previously, it wasn't very widely used but nowadays most insurance companies reimburse providers for telehealth visits which is preferred by many patients. Teladoc is one of the bigger companies.

Dr. Ann-Marie’s Answer

In my field, I think the most important development is the acceptance of patients as experts in the diseases that they live with by drug developers, regulators, Health Care Providers, Payers and other stakeholders. This has now led to requirements across the Health Care Industry to obtain patients' perspectives on every aspect of their care, to inform every stage of the drug development process, to inform the regulatory decisions to approve drugs and to guide access and pricing decisions. This is having a major impact on how drugs are being developed and will soon have a major impact on what drugs are approved to be on the market based on what patients' want in a drug. This is really putting power in the hands of every patient to influence their care and to ensure that the drugs that are being developed will meet their medical needs.

For audit, I think the digital innovations will have some of the bigger impacts on our audit work. We are always having to review and consider our audit procedures in the light of the newest tech.
